Slow draining kitchen sink

Has anybody else experienced slow drainage from the kitchen sink? Bathroom basin is fast.On inspection it looks like theres only a small bore hole to drain the water away,is this the norm or am i missing something and its not blocked.Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated

I find that the corrugated waste pipe builds up "Gunge" try blocking of the waste exit and pouring some of the Drain cleaner down, and see if that works.

Before leaving a site we would pour a bowl of very hot water down the kitchen sink. Better than just dumping the contents of the hot water tank onto the pitch.

If you use chemicals check they are suitable for caravan pipes. You don't want to cause further problems. I use Fenwick pipe and drain cleaner. I use it fairly regularly to try and stop the build up of grunge.

Is this a case of your wastemaster being full? When they fill up, the backpressure makes it harder for the water in the kitchen sink to push through and into it. If the water drains slowly on all occasions (Ie, even when wastemaster is empty) then this won't be the issue.

Wondered about replacing corrugated pipe with rigid and swept bend where it emerges under the van.
Only concern is that I would be removing the "trap" where currently the corrugated pipe makes a "loop" filled with water as it emerges under the van.

Has anyone, having replaced with rigid, experienced smells in the van.

Since the smelly water would be "sniffed" from the wastemaster rather than that held in the "loop" I doubt there would be any change?

Any comments from those who have made rthe chsange please?

Several makers provide caravan/mothrhome water traps that can be integrated into the sink outlet and there are other options for inline use.

Reich is the specific brand that was factory fitted on the two Hymer caravans we have owned. This features a half turn screw off base to clear if & when required.

The use of a loop in the typical corrugated pipe coupled with that's inherent difficulty to open and clean, is a very poor, though cheap solution to providing a trap. IMO reflects on the van maker's standards.
