None here during the night, despite it being predicted on the local BBC weather website

Cold enough to make me want to stay in and hug the Rayburn though.

I live on a hill and when we have just a couple of inches the road gets treacherous because it never gets salted. Last winter cars were a no no as a near neighbour found out as he slid from top to bottom until stopped by a lamp post. It wrote his car off. Most walk to the main road which is easier when the snow is fresh. That is until idiotic drivers try to come up the hill and round the bend. Only two so far this morning but one was a driving instructor with his pupil. All failed despite trying for ages, including the so called plonker of an instructor. Now, we who live up here, have a skid pan for a road due to their stupidness.
The fact is our road only leads to the residents homes and nowhere else. At least the snow as stopped the woman who works in town, 1 1/2 miles away, and parks her car opposite. The only people who need to use our road are the residents and people who have business at these houses. It's not a car park for all and sundry. I must admit the devil in me would have liked to see her this morning and watch her slide into a lamp post .... heh! heh! heh!

No snow here, the tiny bit (hardly worth mentioning) that we had the other day has long since gone. I've seen photos this morning on Facebook of a friend's garden in Lincolnshire, and they've got masses of it!

Doesn't feel as cold as it has been, either.

More snow overnight here - and it's absolutely freezing. Not only that but our central heating has packed up.
I'll have to gird my loins and join Wenceslas, finding winter fuuuuuuuuuel!
Anyone got some long wellies for the Yorkshire snow!

Theres snow on the ground here although the main roads are clear. It's a very grey morning though and it looks as though we are due for more snowfall, in fact it's snowing now.
No heating, what a nuisance Val. It looks like t'old pigeon pen will have to be burnt

Small amounts of snow here in North Norfolk, (we were bracing ourselves for several inches), it's bright, and looks if there may be some sunshine. The roads are clear, and have been from the start of the bad weather, so no problems getting out and about - I shan't be going anywhere today, it's blowing a gusty north easterly and it's absolutely freezing!!

T'pigeon LOFT's gone already Parksy, and t'pigeons - braised pigeon is very nice on a cold winter night!
The snow's getting deeper and crisper and even here!
Fortunately the heating's on again - I found that if I run a bath then we can get the heating on as well. Mr Val A is investigating it as we speak - and in reply to Lord B's comment, he's decided the fur-lined wellies would be a nice Christmas present!

1ft. at least here in N. Lincs. And snowing again, measured snow on caravan roof before clearing most of it off, some pile!!

Also if anyone is interested Lincoln Christmas market has been cancelled, for the first time in 20+ years.
Road conditions in N. Lincs horrendous. Underfoot also atrocious. Past being pictuesque now.

Here too! You couldn't get a car out if you wanted to. We've seen no signs of any gritting since it started snowing whenever that was, and we've now got about nine inches of snow - although more like eighteen inches, according to the presenter at Gatwick airport who described 'six inches of snow at the airport' - obviously 'fishermens' measurements' as it couldn't have been more than two or three inches at the most.
More snow forecast, apparently, although at the moment it's stopped but three inches have fallen in a very short time today.
Our local shop has run out of bread so I'm baking some at the moment.
