Hi Philip,

I have the same outfit as you, well nearly a S6 Wyoming.

My Sorie's mpg improved with mileage.

We are now at 58k and get 32mpg solo and tugging on a motorway cruising at 55mph we get 26-28mph. Towing on twisty A roads , up and down the gears we get 24ish.

1700 Sorento owners belong to the forum "uksorento.com" . Have a look . a very comprehensive mpg survey was carried out just over a year ago. Mine is a 5 speed manual, the autos will be thirstier.

Cheers

Alan

Hi, I have a 138bhp auto towing 1400kg with the car well loaded. I get 30-32 mpg solo (K&N filter, synthetic oil and branded fuel and a staedy approach) and 22-24mpg towing. I did get beetr mpg in France as it was far easier to travel at a steady speed on their M ways and A roads. Last time out in Uk I sat at 54-56 mph with the trucks and the improvement in mpg was about 4 mpg over 200 miles of M way, so it wasn't a very long period over which to gauge it, but my wife certainly commented that the engine was'nt continually up and down as it is when I try and hold 60mph.

Hi Philip

We also have a 2.5 138bhp auto and as Clive we get around 30/32 solo. Towing 1800kg we seem to get around 24mpg.

If you are considering buying a Sorento you would not be disappointed, pound for pound there is not many towcars to beat it.
