We are going to go to spain next August for 2/3 weeks with the van,has anyone got the details of the camp site near to universal studios (i think thats who it is?),also,has anyone been there,done the trip to spain,how long does it take,etc etc...cheers

You are presumably talking about Port Aventura near Salou.We went last year,it is very good if you have children,similar to Euro Disney.Be aware though that it is 1200 mile drive from Calais so allow plenty of time & stops on the way.Even if you go via Santander or Bilbao it is still 600 miles to drive in Spain.Good luck with the trip.

Further to previous post,forgot to add campsite details:-Cambrils Park on the coast road. Cambrils is village near Salou.Seem to have lost the address.

hi stuart,

we've been to port aventura for the past three years,it is far,far better than the disney parks. the best site within 'spitting' distance is camping cambrils. without a doubt the best resort (the word site just dont do it justice!)we have,or will stay at.its about 10 mins drive to the park from here,or there are buses every 15mins or so. from calais it takes us about 24 hours, including stops to get there. we use A roads all the way and the journey costs about

Hi Stuart,

Best campsite is Cambrils Park (www.cambrilspark.es) We drove down last year stopping overnight near Macon. The total driving time from Calais (not including the overnight stop) but including the usual lunch, toilet, stops etc is 18 hours. However the roads are great so no problem. Well worth the trip.
