The lady at Bailey responded swiftly and advised the exact four hinges I need for my Hartal door.

All four reasonably priced at £35 inc £5.50 p&p.
Sadly the estimated despatch date is 6th October 2025🙉
Three months😵‍💫
Surely Hartal door hinges are common? Whilst not crucial for us , just another job I wanted out of the way before summer end.

No wonder people are moving away from caravanning.

If you know the part number can’t you source it online from another distributor. There seems to be quite a lot advertised on EBay, and caravan/motorhome accessory outlets but obviously the makers part number is required. But “yes” three months is too long a wait, fortunately you are not in a panic to fit them.

They're probably on the slow boat from China - literally!

The hinges may not be caravan specific and could possibly be used in other sectors. If the hinges were only made for the caravan industry the price would probably be astronomical.

These are bespoke to Hartal who are the door and frame makers. I have searched elsewhere and cannot find any “copies”. EBay has the odd one but not the full set.
One more job for the autumn.

Amazing!
Prima Leisure just emailed me.
All four hinges have been dispatched and will be with me next 48 hours.

So why on earth tell me on Monday there would be a three month delay🙃

And the tables turn again!
The hinges have just arrived but with no pins!
Who on Earth sell hinges without the pins.

I think they may be an extra cost? Why didn’t Prima Leisure say so when first wrote to them🤔

Seems to me anything to do with caravans is destined to make our lives more difficult😜😜

It gets worse Hutch.

At last a reply from Bailey.

“Good afternoon

After discussing with my colleague, we've discovered the pins on Series 6 doors were connected to the frame as opposed to being separate parts. Unfortunately the frame has been discontinued so it's not something we can procure.

Your best bet would be to contact a caravan breaker who might be able to get one for you.

We would be happy to refund the parts you have ordered should you wish.”

Has anyone ever had a caravan where the hinges door and frame were totally integral. Do you really have to buy a whole door frame if the hinges are worn? Here’s a photo of my hinges , door and frame copies of which were sent to Bailey at the start of this quest.

I think that really says a lot about the caravan business. So the rot was established even by circa 2005/7.
But from my memory in those days the fridges didn’t give many issues, and manual Thetfords were still in vogue.

Thanks BB.
I confess I bought four hinge pins from them last week in the absence of a reply from Bailey’s Prima Leisure.
I sent three chasers to Prima and heard nothing. Then out of the blue they asked me to fill in a Trustpilot review on my purchase experience. In their words “they reached out to me”.

I gave them nil points. Within an hour they replied saying they were looking into my case. The rest is history!

But I am not convinced they are correct. It is clear from the photos I sent them that the door was mounted separately using removable hinges. Earlier this morning they said no need to return the hinges ,they are giving me a full refund!👍

I’ll have a look later in the week . Meanwhile here’s photos of the hinges and pins .Now if they do fit I suppose I will have to pay again🙉

Chipping Sodbury Caravans got any ideas? They might have come across this before.

Ah the Trustpilot review, IMO waste of time, posted several reviews over the years noNe oft he negative ones survived. Last time was Screwfix, they e mailed me and said review didn't comply with their policy, when I queried this was told the reviews are checked by third party AI
