spongy floor

hi i have a 1997 lunar 4 berth caravan and have found a small spongy spot in the floor by the sink area. there appears to be no damp and i can see when i look underneath while somebody is in the van that it doesnt look like a joint area. any ideas if/how this can be fixed. thanx. d

Hi there d. The spongy floor is almost certainly delamination, its most commonly found in older vans although younger vans can also suffer, its usually found where the floor has most wear and thats at the sink / cooker area, the glue that bonds the layers of floor together has become brittle or dried out and the layers have seperated causing bowing which gives you a trampoline effect when you stand on it. It can be repaired by yourself , you'll find instructions online.
