I have a 2year old Swift Europa 620. The floor squeaks in the toilet and shower room. In a house this would represent loose floor boards. What do you think is the cause of this squeak?.

How should I fix the problem.

Thank you. Paul

i would say delamination of the floor,it is layers of plywood boned for strength.as your van is only 2 years old its back to the dealer for warranty work.if your not covered a kit can be brought,to repair your self.anyone know of kit please??all you do is inject glue into the floor.check out other furniture for loose screws, found that in my case of what i thought was a squeaky floor was in fact loose screws on the side dinnett

Hi Paul

Whilst it may well be your floor which is delaminating it may not be. We had a similar squeak which turned out to be the point where a cupboard was joined to the floor. A slight flexing of the floor when we walked near to the cupboard caused a squeak. If it is something similar it may just want the screws tightening a bit.

The most common causes of noise from the floor on a 2 year old van are : 1. The bolts which secure the floor to the chassis need tightening, or 2.slight movement of furniture at places where it touches the floor.

It is highly unlikely to be delamination

I have a 3 year old van and my floor is springy but dealer has said it is ok, i do have a squeak in the floor but this has been traced by me not the dealer to the shower cubical and the way it has been fitted also when you site the van make sure you have the steadies down and level this does help but you wont get rid of the flexing ! normal in most vans i have been told.

As Damian says, it is likely the floor securing bolts to the chassis and axle that nead to be tightened slightly. If still under warranty, I would leave this up to dealer at next service.

After 3+ years with my 'van, my squeaking floor was cured by an extra half turn on the fixing bolts. I found about eight of these crawling underneath, around side of van and one in centre securing floor mid way along axle. This latter one seemed to have the most effect. WARNING Do not overtighten screws. Half turn only should cure. If not get dealer to investigate.

We too had a squeeky floor. And when we had it serviced were told it was the furniture etc not the floor.A quick tighten of the screws on the furniture and no more squeeking.

Hello Paul,

I have a 2009 Swift Conqueror 630 it also had a squeaky floor in the end toilet shower room. After a few days I took a closer look and found the noise was coming from the walk-in shower unit. This comprises a perspex screen with a plastic base unit, and it was movement between the two causing the squeak. I used a small piece (1" sq) of plastic from a shopping bag (doubled/folded) placed between the two components at point of contact. The noise stopped after this, I know others had similar problem on "Caravan Talk" and Swift supplied some plastic pads by post.

This is an easy fix to try before crawling underneath the van.

Does the Europa 620 have a walk-in shower?

Hi all thanks for the info. I found that an angled floor panel was touching the wash basin cabinet and squeaked. A little rubbing with some sand paper fixed it.
