St Patrick's Weekend

For anyone who likes Guinness or has kissed the Blarney stone West Midlands DA (C&CC) are holding their annual St Patrick's weekend meet at Wolverley CE School near to Kidderminster this coming weekend 16th-18th March.
The rally site opens at 5pm, no ehu is available but there are toilets etc and all C&CC members are welcome.
The hall has been booked and there is usually a quiz, music and dancing in the hall on Saturday evening, take along your own refreshments

All C&CC members and their children / Leprechauns welcome

Secondly you celebrate the fact that a terrorist tried to blow up your parliament by having a Guy Fawkes night. Thirdly you have a statue of a convicted terrorist, Nelson Mandela in London. Now how weird is that!

St Patrick was said to be a Romano Briton born in what is now Cumbria so we only lent him to Ireland.
There are a growing number of events linked to St George's day, it's true that he was ignored but as John said, any excuse for a party! Birmingham DA usually hold a decent St George's weekend rally if you like a good booze up (details nearer to the date)
Guy Fawkes, well, what can I say? All is forgiven!!!!

Nelson Mandela? One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter and all that, and if HM The Queen thinks he's ok and deserves a statue then that's fine by us.

You all remembered St Patricks Day but then forgot St Georges Days and it takes a South African to remind you! LOL!

As someone with an English father and an Irish mother I remember both although I tend to enjoy a Guinness at the St Patricks event whereas there's a large parade not far from us for St Georges on the nearest weekend and I wouldn't drink in the street.
Some DA's held 'St Georges' weekend rallies with food, music and fancy dress for those who wanted to take part but owing to the weather and a hospitalised relative we gave the rallies a miss last weekend.
