If your existing one has a good “run” I would go for one as near to that fitted. You a probably best to judge if you can go slightly shorter or need to go slightly longer based on how your present one looks in relation to bottle and regulator. A good purchase either way.We have the 7.5kg Safefill cylinder that is 48cm in height. On checking there are various lengths offered for the pigtail i.e. .450mm, 500mm or 750mm. I would think that the 450 or 500mm would be sufficient in length, but would like advice. Thanks.
The NCC as you say offers this as advice, it is not mandatory, though good sense should tell you to go the shortest one that meets your needs. The shorter, the better. NCC advise 450, but that may not be best for your particular layout. Measure it.
Choose a length that gives a continuous upward run from cylinder to regulator - so it all depends how/where your cylinders and regulator are fitted. We have the 7.5kg Safefill cylinder that is 48cm in height.
