We have the 7.5kg Safefill cylinder that is 48cm in height. On checking there are various lengths offered for the pigtail i.e. .450mm, 500mm or 750mm. I would think that the 450 or 500mm would be sufficient in length, but would like advice. Thanks.

If your existing one has a good “run” I would go for one as near to that fitted. You a probably best to judge if you can go slightly shorter or need to go slightly longer based on how your present one looks in relation to bottle and regulator. A good purchase either way.

The shorter, the better. NCC advise 450, but that may not be best for your particular layout. Measure it.
The NCC as you say offers this as advice, it is not mandatory, though good sense should tell you to go the shortest one that meets your needs.

Thanks. I was thinking of using Gaslow, but it seems they have no stock of 450 or 500mm hoses without the handwheel. Cannot use handwheel due to arthritis. Other option is buying from BES.

Choose a length that gives a continuous upward run from cylinder to regulator - so it all depends how/where your cylinders and regulator are fitted.

I would say that, as other advice, the shorter the better with the proviso that the curve is gentle and you dont over stress the ends, i.e. the curve allows them to connect to the bottle straight, if that makes sense.

Thanks all. Now to find one that is 450-500mm in length. The ones sold by BES only have a warranty of 1 year although they are made by Cleese. Gaslow do not have any in stock at that length.

BES are just notifying their standard warranty for goods sold. If it’s made by Cleese the quality is there but don’t forget BES obligation under consumer law. I’ve never fussed about warranty on my propane standard pigtails, more bothered about making sure I buy a “ young” one with plenty of life left.
