Standpipes

We live in kent and maybe will have to use standpipes this summer. So The obvious thing to do is to get the water hog and aquaroll from the van. But how to get the water back out of them ? the van is 12miles away - so the vans system is out and an aquaroll stand may not work with the waterhog.

So anyone got any ideas - just in case !!! I've seen drill pumps but don't know if they can draw up water and are safe for drinking.

Caravan Whale or similar submersible pump and a 12 volt supply.

Maybe.

Have to buy one first and something to power it - as the van doesn't use one - any ideas what amps they need ?

Not sure on amps, but my pump runs fine off a small sealed lead acid battery and can be charged in the car.

Battery and cahrgers available from Maplin and other fine electrical suppliers ;-)
