Status 530 Directional Aerial

Can anyone know if the Status 530 directional aerial is any good, or is it better to still use a good old fashioned aerial on a mast.

I have been next to people with an aerial on a mast and have got perfect digital signals with our 530 when they have struggled to get analogue, I have to assume they did not have the booster the 530 has.

A great bit of kit, but if you can't get a signal its like any other aerial. We were at the Wirral Country Park not far from Bikenhead last week end and the van next door had a standard status compared to our 530. They came to watch the Utd-Chesea match in our van as their picture was non exsistant also we had a great digi box signal which again they could not get.

Our last van had the round Status on the roof , when in an area with a strong signal that was sufficient for digital and analouge TV. However we also carried a standard aerial , mast and booster for areas with weak signals. Since we got our current van which is fitted with a Status 530 we havent had to use the mast aerial as the status has always got us a signal for both digital and analouge. Will be visiting Aviemore shortly so that will be the real test for the aerial.
