Very sad indeed, but no clues as to cause of death are being given. Had to be heart attack ir stroke I think as he was on the radio only a few days ago!

When we lived in Reading, we regularly listened to him when he started broadcasting at Radio 210 in '76 - our thoughts go out to his family.

Sad, we did enjoy listening to Steve Wright in the afternoon. With Elvis, and the Old Woman, Also Sunday Love Songs. Nice, uncontroversial, easy listening.

Too young.

I enjoyed his presenting style and choice of music, but there’s little point in speculating as I could think of other conditions that lead to an unexpected death. Best just to remember the enjoyment that Steve gave to millions over the years.

We were driving back to our hotel after the NEC show, and the news reader, Sara Cox and traffic lady were in bits. Very sad, especially for his family.

I used to listen to Steve Wright every afternoon when I was a lorry driver, his show was the best thing on the radio.
May he rest in eternal peace

In my teens I always listened to his afternoon show on Radio 1, his presenting style was a refreshing change from the other cheesy DJ’s. During the mid 80’s he also had a touring caravan for a while, something he seemed to forget when criticising caravans later in life! He always came across as inoffensive and easy going. A loss to the world of entertainment.
