Still time to take action.

Despite an excellent rendition at Murrayfield yesterday of Flower of Scotland, tomorrow is International Bagpipes Day. So there’s still time to charge your noise cancelling headphones or search out your ear plugs. 🙈

The best description I have heard to describe (badly played) bagpipes, is "Agony Bags"

Having said that we once heard last minute musical practice for a wedding at Orleans Cathedral, there were just 2 instruments being played, bagpipes and a Piccolo, It's a combination I would never have thought of, but we sat listening in utter delight, it was a simply magical experience.
Where I live there is a sea wall about a mile long with just a bird reserve and a road behind it. For many years there was a chap who would go half way along the wall to practice playing his bagpipes! He was pretty good too.

Joking apart I like bagpipe music, and when we visit Scotland we try and visit local shows/games etc to hear the pipe bands. I’ve several nice CDs too, but only for when I’m driving alone or on my own. For our daughter's first wedding we had a retired Argyle and Sutherland pipe major in full Highland military dress.. Magical.
