stolen aquaroll or wastemaster

has anybody ever had these stolen from you van during your caravan holiday.if so,how do you keep yours under lock and key

Dave, yes we have had both stolen whilst on site, and also had the Aquaroll stolen , along with other stuff when in storage.

We take just about everything home each time now, which is not to clever as we use the van almost every week during the summer. On site, we use the cable bicycle locks and pass one end through the handle, the other round a corner steady or through one of the cut outs in the van chassis, and lock the ends together.

We had our jockey wheel stolen while we were asleep in the caravan when we stayed at Trevornick site near Newquay, had to buy a new jockey wheel before we could leave. It was the type with side fixing clamp, so when we got home we drilled a hole through the clamp bracket and fitted a padlock, so the clamp could be slackened to adjust the jockey wheel but not get the wheel mechanism off the van without undoing the padlock. When we first started caravanning one of the attractions was that you seemed to be able to trust other caravanners, and leave aquarolls etc, sadly it does not seem to be the case now.

yes as i have said before LOCK IT OR LOSE IT,we have been to sites that have had things stolen.aqua roll/steps/cables/watering can/last one keswick a few weeks ago.rucksack and all belongings.and we only use club sites.

What a pity we have to lock everything up! And here was me thinking that the caravan fraternity were above reproach and respected each others kit! Still, it would appear that the general rapid decent into moral decay, selfishness, rampant greed and dishonesty has caught up with us even on site! I'll be looking for bicycle locks etc before going on Bank Holiday break. WHAT A PITY!
