stolen caravans

Hi all

Reading on this and other forums it would seem the police heve now given up on people stealing caravans and just give out crime numbers. Because if so why are we all saving to purchase our new caravan? Why do we not all just when we see wait we like hitch up and take it in fact if they give us the crime pad we could leave it as we take the items. Save them on paper work too.

Unfortunately it is not only caravans that the police don't bother with any more. Although they are probably one of the most valuable assets that we have that can be stolen.

Recently had three bikes stolen from the side of our house, all padlocked. The Police didn't want to know! Of course got my crime number for insurance purposes but as nobody was injured they were not interested.

When a friends house was burgled last year it took the scenes of crime officer three days to visit, by which time I'm not sure what they expected to find. No doubt the visit counted towards some national target.

It would appear that this is the way forward for policing in this country these days or are they too busy dealing with all the drunks in town centres in the early hours?

If you tell them you have caught somebody trying to steal your caravan, and have locked them in your shed/greenhouse/garage they send an armed response unit and arrest YOU for kidnapping!!

Story in our local paper and it wasn't an April Fool!

The same thing down here in our local paper chap came home found someone stealing in his house. He caught him and held him till police arrived and he was arrested for kidnapping and assalt. The chap who had broke in to the house was let of by the police.

Try making sence out of that one.
