Hello All

I'm wondering if anyone can help. I'm looking to replace one of the catches/locks on the side storage compartment of my Coachman Amara 450/2 because it's become faulty (general wear and tear). I've looked on Google but can't come across one. I can only fine Gas Storage locks, but they're not the same. Just wondering if maybe it has a specific same. If anyone can help it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hi John

I've seen that one on Google but it says it's for the gas bottle storage. The ones on my side storage locker are slightly different in that they don't have a back plate.

There's a selection of locker door locks on eBay!
What exactly is wrong with your current one? Is it the barrel or the main catch?

It's the main catch. The barrel is held in place by 4 quarters of plastic. Two of these have broken over time through wear. I've looked on eBay and Amazon but so far I haven't been able to come across the one I'm after.

Looks like yours is the same setup as mine. It literally fell apart on our last outing. The plastic lugs that retain the screws snapped about halfway down and the barrel fell out.
Replaced the screws with longer self tappers.
Drilled a small hole in the end of the barrel tongue and inserted a split pin.

If all else fails, probably a Coachman dealer will have them or you could try caravan dismantlers like SCM.
