Storm Straps

Had cause to use my awning storm strap recently (in August !!!. Did its job OK. However, does anyone have any tips to stop the strap from 'flapping' in the wind against the top of the awning between the poles?? Found it quite disturbing at night. Many Thanks

Ken,

try putting a twist in the strap or clipping a peg on the strap it should work. Also dont forget to protect your awning where it comes into contact with the strap, it can cause wear, a piece of foam should do.

I use foam pipe cladding, used to insulate against frost, cut to length. 3 sections of this slid onto your storm strap, one for each end pole a one for centre pole. This also stops the strap chafing and holing the awning where it rubs.

Hi Ken, if you put the strap over the frame and under the awning itself this will eliminate the flapping and also protect the awning cover from abrasive wear!!!
