Strange toilet obsession

Maybe there should be a section titled *HIT CHAT.
Why do some on here seem obsessed with anything to do with toilets and bodily functions? If you want the latest example just read the post entitled "Have I been sacked".How the hell can this degenerate after a few pages to toilet talk?

Over the past few months there have been a few topics that have been turned to filth by the sewage enthusiasts. It seems strange that none of the postings have been removed and in fact on more than one accasion a moderator has joined in the mucky banter. This happens whilst innocent posts are deemed unsuitable.
Perhaps Haymarket publishing could start a toilet and sewage based monthly( no doubt somebody will suggest a daily) .It would be guaranteed a few sales to some of the regulars (snigger snigger) on here.
Thats my rant over.I get the feeling that the toilet boys will think its Christmas having this opportunity to talk mucky.
Makes me feel sick!

What makes me feel sick are those who one one hand accuse moderators of being humourless and overbearing and on the other hand criticise moderators who attempt to be human and to display a sense of humour. People who constantly whinge about forum matters also induce nausea.
I don't think that this is the only forum on which you have a pop at the mods is it ?
If you can point out an 'innocent post' which was 'deemed unsuitable' pray share your wisdom with us but on this forum we try to treat people as adults who can decide what to write about and contribute to for themselves.
If you dislike the subject matter enough to make you want to complain about it then either don't read it in the first place or join a forum which caters to your sensitivities.

When I saw this post from RogerB I wondered what had happened since I made the last post in 'Have I Been Sacked. I immediately went to that post to see what had infuriated him and had him so incensed. There was nothing except some mild posts from DD and Kev so I can only assume these were the aim of his ire. That is unless the offending post was deleted. If not I can only surmise that RogerB has a delicate stomach and I do wonder if he watches TV because if so he will see or hear far worse on that media. If he opts to use the remote if such offending material is on TV why, like Parksy says, not use his mouse to navigate away from the topics that turn his delicate stomach.
It's a well known fact that bodily functions have been a part of comedy in all medias, take Peter Sellars pooting in the lift for example, but for this to have any affect you need a sense of humour and a fully functioning chuckle muscle.

Good evening Roger

Clearly the Knights and Dames of the Woosie Round Table have hacked you off?
smiley-undecided.gif

That's a real shame because we are a lovely bunch of caravanners who over the years have taken the plunge to exclusively use our own facilities. For some of us it has been a traumatic time but in the end with minimal strain we all achieved the objective .
smiley-cool.gif

Now if our toilet banter has caused you to feel flushed, rolled out , blue looed , pink, the Woosies can help.
Anyone who has ever been to the CC site at Loch Naver, by Alnaharra will understand. The nearest public loo is at the Gillies Bar at the Alnaharra Hotle 20 miles away. Even my sphincter is not cast iron

.
Enjoy.

Seemed to have rattled a few cisterns.Parkesy,I'm not suggesting for one minute that you are humourless or having a "pop" at the mods,I simply pointed out that in a previous topic that also descended into toilet talk you became very involved and if I remember correctly had to be berated by Damien who stopped the post.
DD If you wish to use your private facilities for their intended use then carry on.That was not my point.
LB You are spot on - I can navigate away from the muck. The problem is that I enjoy reading most of the posts but seemingly normal and sensible posts do,on occasion, become hijacked by the sewage squad and it is this that I object to.
Is it an age thing? Do males reach a certain age and become obsessed with waste matters? The ladies seem to avoid the mucky banter.
Or - maybe its just me who finds it distasteful and unecessary.

We've only heard from the sewage squad so far.I'm sure that there are many more with an opinion.

Wishful thinking on your part I think Roger, Damian and myself do not berate each other or stop each others posts

I'd agree that posts can sometimes be hi-jacked by all sorts of red herrings including some lavatorial humour from time to time that's the way that a forum discussion often develops.
Moderators step in when humour or comments are judged to be a bit too near the knuckle, bad language and obscenity certainly have no place on this forum but if mods stopped a topic every time that someone wrote a comment that might 'offend' somebody somewhere there'd be hardly any topics left and what remained would be dry as dust and excruciatingly boring and the forum would haemorrhage active members.
You are of course entitled to your point of view as are those who disagree with you but if an occasional spot of toilet humour on a caravan forum is all that you have to worry about then in the great scheme of things you should consider yourself very lucky.

That's the spirit Roger

Whatever you do, don't read this caravan blog by 'Shirker', one of our newer forum members who having recently purchased a caravan has mentioned this delicate and fundamental issue several times in his descriptions of experiences of a newbie caravanner.
You may not be surprised to know that I personally found Shirker's blog quite amusing

Hi DD Where have I been? That'd be telling .
I have been to the Glastonbury Festival this last few years though so I am more than qualified to talk toilets.I've seen and smelt things that would turn even an old hand like yourself.lol I won't talk about that though, but who knows what might come out when I reach THAT age. lol

Now that's what I call great toilet talk.

Thanks Roger. I did see a bloke fall off the scaffold boards into the cess pit at the Isle of Wight years ago. What a mess.

Hi Parksy, I followed the link you posted to Shirkers blog and I enjoyed it to the extent it had me laughing out loud, highly amusing and brilliantly written, whoever shirker is I'd like to say keep the blog going, me being the skeptical person I am I will sometimes wonder if things like this are for real or just someone with a flair for writing doing it because they can, in this case I'm not bothered as true or not I love it.

Shirker recently bought a caravan, he's a newbie to the hobby and a member of this forum.
I hope that he continues with his blog and posts some of his amusing observations on the forum from time to time.

I do believe we were trying to cheer up a fellow forum member and distract him from his worries a little. It is a common thread that can arise in any conversation and no offense is intended. In a reserved nation such as ours it is sometimes a bit of a chance to enjoy a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" bit of banter. The Royal Order of Woosiness will always respect the finer feelings of others and all Knights and Dames will conduct themselves in an orderly manner.

I don't visit this site as often as I used to as I am now the proud owner of a MOTORHOME
smiley-laughing.gif
. However I must agree with Roger that humour nowadays, whether it be on this forum, on TV, the press, etc., has reached a very low standard. When one must rely on crude, smutty comments in order to try to obtain a laugh is, in my opinion, not funny at all. There are many shows on TV these days where the language is attrocious e.g. Live at The Apollo - thank God I have the oppertunity of using the on-off switch.

I am not pretending to be a prude having worked in the construction industry all my life - some comments on building sites are enough to make a navvy blush. I have enjoyed many a crude joke and probably even made quite a few over the years, however there is a time and place for everything and one thing that is sadly lacking in society these days is respect.

Heh! heh! heh! Colyn ap Brydgynd. Just jog my memory. I seem to recall a few of your jokes on here being deleted in the past. Don't put me into shock and tell me you've seen the light and found the Lord
