I am hoping to visit York around second week in October. Any suggestions for good sites in the area. Needs to allow children and dog, in close proximity to city.

C/C site at Rowntree Park down side of the river and a short walk into the City. Book before you go, Bazz.

weve had a look at this one and thought the same but my brother goes there alot and recons it hardly floods and would have to be really bad weather to make it flood and if it was on flood watch they would advise you to go home

Naburn Lock is handy with bus to York stopping/dropping at the entrance. There is also a water bus service though it might not still be running in October.

Thanks for all advice. Got booked into CC site at Beechwood Grange.
We always go to this site every Easter, usual CC presentation & close to Park & Rides for York city centre.

Beechwood Grange - Fantastic. Great site. Great wardens. Ideal location for York (park and ride) or visits outwith eg Castle Howard.
