Sunncamp ultima 260 awning how easy to erect

Hi Folks,

After using their Scenic porch awnings for a couple of years

without any problems, our thoughts have turned to a slightly larger model.

On a visite to our local caravan shop yesterday we saw the Ultima 260 sunncamp Awning erected, It was very roomy inside made of the same material as the Scenic range even has flyscreen on both entry flaps.

Question is folks how easy is this model to erect, looking inside how do you ensure that the fibre glass poles actually go into the roof end part, next to the awning rail.

We gave up using our large standard awning many years ago due to problems with my shoulders.

Any helpfull advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Royston,

We use the sunncamp ultima 260. It is realy easy to erect.

Its very much like those dome tents. Put the awning into the rail then slide in the poles making sure the ends go into the pockets. Bend the poles and insert the pin into the end of the poles. Now put in the cross members to hold the poles apart. All that is left to do is secure with the guy ropes.

We first used ours in strong winds and had no problems, very secure.

Hope this helps, any problems just ask.

Will

Hi Royston,

We had one of these Awnings the same one as the one you are asking about, and went to Cornwall for a week, and it was extremley windy and wet (typical cornwall), and it leaked like a sieve, never again,we got rid of it,and bought a proper porch awning, with no probs,However they are easy to erect, and we was told that we had got a lemon. But good luck with it anyway Craig

Hello again

Seems Craig had a bad experiance with the sunncamp.

We used ours in the wind and rain and had no probs.

The dealer told us that it might leak at first but the fabric then tightens and does not leak after that.

Thanks Will for your help, we have never had any problem with their scenic porch, Going to give it a try let you know around June how I got on, away for 31 days touring Scotland.

Royston

Good luck.

We've just booked Stanwix park in Silloth Cumbria 19-23 feb.

we will be using the suncamp then.
