Surge damper stem tee adaptor leak

Hi. I set up my water on my Bailey unicorn Madrid this weekend and noticed a leak coming from the stem tee adaptor which is circled in red. When I had the pump on and taps open the water ran fine but as soon as I closed the taps it’s almost like the pressure built up and started leaking out this join. Is it likely to be a faulty tee or surge damper ? Has anyone else had this issue ?
TIA

If the T-joint is leaking, it's faulty - drain the system down and re-seat each of the T-piece connections - if that doesn't work, replace the T-piece - remembering that both 12mm and 13mm are valid sizes so make sure you use the correct one.

Did you drain the water system down over winter, if not there might be a crack in the T connector due to freezing.
But Rogers tip is well worth checking, look for cracks when you have the T out.

I've seen this fault with the Whale a stem tee' if 12mm tube is pushed in it can leak slightly as the pressure drops , with a higher pressure the O ring inside is pressed harder against the housing , particularly if the pipe isn't fitted square, sort of counter intuitive I know , but thats what I observed . Also the 'stem' part has two slots in it( see photo) and if the stem isn't pushed into the female fitting far enough so the 'teeth' in the female fitting drop into one of the slots, it seemed , because the fitters cut the tubing short it slowly pulled the fitting out and caused the leak.Replacing and refitting the 12mm pipe which leads to the sink (with a slightly longer piece) and clamping it the floor with P clips solved it . Personally I've never seen a split JG or whale fitting , usually it's the taps that fail.

thanks for the replies! Gave the connectors all a good check and they seem all in and connected properly! Hopefully just some freeze damage and a new T will sort it. I did drain down the system a few months back but maybe some water left in the connectors ? Got one arriving so will test as soon as I have it.
