Swift Awning Light Replacement.

So after about 6 years 90% of the LEDs have finally failed and I see that the 'sealed' unit is full of water / condensation which seems to be an issue with all of these lights, so its time to replace the unit for about £70.
Its a pretty straightforward repalcement job as they appear to fix to the wall of the caravan using double sided tape. I've looked at the existing unit to be repaced and its stuck rock solid to the van and will not budge. Even when I try to ease it feels as if its fixed with screws - which it isnt.
I dont want to apply heat to soften the tape or use a stanley knife to ease it off and risk damaging the outside wall of the van (as a member on here has already done), so I'm wondering how might be the best way to get the old unit off without making a real mess and wishing I'd never bothered!
Has anyone changed their unit as they all fill with water and fail and are a very very common light.Awning light.jpeg

I used dental floss with a gentle sawing motion and patience. Some warmth helps and with care a hairdryer isn’t going to damage the caravan as the heat applied is far less than it sees on a hot summers day.

Woodsieboy, I found the video on YT and its brilliant. A bit of a fiddly job but very straight forrward as I've already changed the touch screen panel so are familiar with whats waiting behind. As ever, just a question of not rushing it.
Thanks guys for all your suggestions!

I recently replaced my LED awning light on my 2018 Coachman. I thought I might have to remove the whole unit from the side of the van. I measured up the light and photo'd it and went to my local dealer. Luckily they had generic replacement exactly the same size. When I got home lo and behold the top cover of the replacment came off. I looked very carefully at the failed light on the van and found that the cover came off there as well, only clipped on. It was just a simple job of unscrewing the LED strip and putting it all back. Total job time 5 minutes. Beware dealers trying to sell you make specific light when it is not required.

JSiggy - Thanks for that and a bit of luck that saved you a lot of hassle / work. So, looking at my light at the top of the thread was yours the same model, if so it might save me removing the base that fits to the side of the van. Cheers.
