Swift Challenger control panel query

Before we leave home on a caravan journey, we disconnect the mains supply and select the battery symbol on the caravan fridge display. We then start the car engine and select car battery on the caravan control panel.
When we stop for a break on a long journey and switch off the car engine, should we reselect car battery on the caravan control panel each time we start off?

Hi Meals on Wheels, the control panel should know that you are still connected and still run the fridge/charge the battery. We did have a problem on outr Sterling Eccles topaz 2009 whereby the control panel would switch off each time we stopped on a jouney (found out accidently) contacted dealer and he was adament this was right. I of course did not accept this, anyway to cut a very long story, the dealer was WRONG, the control panel should select car and stay on and reconnect the fridge/ battery charger every time the car is turned on (after first selecting battery on the fridge). We had to have a new control panel fuse board and other bits to sort the problem under waranty

Cant beleive the dealer wanted us to go and switch the control panel on manually every time we stopped!!!
