Swift Challenger Door Keeper (2022)

After just buying the above, the magnet door keeper is driving me nuts.
It's very effective but when I try to close the door, it's so strong I think I'm going to pull the side panel of the van off!!!!
Does anyone else feel the same?
Has anyone got an idea of a solution please?

I presume your having a problem with the strength of the magnet? If so if you can find some PVC electrical insulation tape of a colour of your choice, and cover both of the magnets with a layer of tape, that will reduce the holding force. If the holding force is not strong enough just remove one of the pieces of tape.

I will try this, thanks.

I have read that some people put a coin on the magnet. However, the Profs’s solution is more elegant.

I can confirm the suggestion by Prof John works, we used silver gaffer tape, just stick it on the circular door catch and then run round the edge with a sharp stanley knife, do the other side the same, it will need replacing once a year as the tape wears.

Thats a damn good idea 🙂
