Swift Charisma and Accord - Fixed Bed

We have been looking at caravans all day and after seeing many versions and makes of fixed bed vans, Swift seemed the best quality to us. Unfortunately we couldn't find the particular models we wanted to see - Charisma 550 and Accord 484 but after ringing round are going back out tomorrow to view and possibly order. Any views on these two vans and Swift vans in general would be much appreciated. The dealer who has these vans has no promotions etc for new caravanners. Would we be unrealistic to ask him to throw in an awning as we're buying new?

Hi Liz,

I would have said that was a reasonable request! Caravans are not exactly flying out of the showrooms at the minute. When we bought ours in Jan they were throwing in flat screen TV's and your usual beginners kit- you know the sort of thing- aquaroll, battery, etc etc. My advice is to look around really well and make some phone calls! You know what you want- they want a sale-how much do they want a sale thats the question!! Play one against another and don't feel guilty about it. They can only no cant they! Best of luck. Swift are a good make although all caravan manufacturers go through dark periods as I call it. Do some research and talk to Swift owners if you can to see if all is ok with Swift at the moment. Perhaps its because thid dealer knows that no one else has the vans you are interested in he feels he hasn't got to work for a sale- there are many many dealers- get that bargain!!.

Merve.

Hi we picked up our Charisma 535 on Friday and have just got back from trying it out locally. It was bliss rolling into bed! The quality seems fine, we didn't have any problems with anything; the bed was comfy, it was easy to get set up and pack away although it did take us until yesterday morning to suss out the hot water as it was different to our last van. Hope this helps.
