Telly woes

Hi

Hoping for a bit of advice on behalf of a friend who is on site with not much signal.

She's on her first trip in her new Baileys van which has cigarette-type 12v plugs.

Her old van had the old style 12v plug sockets. Her Avtex 12v tv powers on using the cigarette adaptor but refuses to find channels. She's tried the tv in the caravan next door with its old style plug and it locks on to channels so the TVs ok and so is the signal strength locally.

The tv also works fine on mains and finds signal easily.

Do you think the problem is with the tv? Does she need an adaptor or is there something else she's missing?

Stumped!

Thanks in advance.

If it powers up ok and works in another van with a known good aerial, then I would suspect the Bailey's aerial is at fault

Thanks for the reply.

The telly tunes in fine with that aerial on mains. Would the switch to 12v make a difference with the same aerial?
