Hi Chris.

I've also been looking at a Terracan. What sort of MPG do you get when solo/towing?

Any problems with the Terracan yet?

Thanks.

Hi Martin, We only bought the car towards the end of last summer and used it for the main holiday down to Cornwall, so at present not so fully sure with towing figures, the engine only had 200m on the clock when we first towed. Solo its around 32+, my wife uses it more than me and loves driving it. Easy to park, high comfortable seating, plenty of space, etc etc Its only done 7,000 miles so its not really run in.

For the money its very good and it does what we want.

Ok its not a BMW or Lexus Volvo VW but i think its build seems very good. From the 2.9 engine which pulls with no problems, we shot passed others on the hills to Cornwall even with the van 4 bikes, surfboards, body boards etc to the slightly plastic dash board (but aren't they all nowadays). But looking under the bonnet the bonnet has gas struts to keep it up even the battery poles have hinged protectors. The key ignition has a light around it at night so you can see where to put the key.The rear seat reclines if i take the parcel shelf out for the kids to lie back a little. We have had no problems with it but the 5 year warranty will hopefully cover anything.

I bought mine from the dealer in Stafford, Martin, who did me an excellent deal over the phone then i went to sign and collect the car 4 days later. I had looked at Nissan Fords Etc but this one won it for me. The slighter smaller Sante Fe, Tuscan is also getting good reviews, just look how many now use them for towing.

Hope this is of use. Chris

All,

We have owned a Terracan for the last 2 years from new and it's been a fantastic towing car. Again I've been down to Devon and Cornwall with our Bailey Pageant Loire and it towed it like dream. The sad side of it all is that we are emigrating to Australia so we are having to sell the car and Caravan.

So if anyboby is interested let me know

Kind Regards

Mark & Suzanne

Just remember that the Terracan isn't designed to operate in 4x4 mode in normal road conditions. You can only use 4 wheel drive in ice or other slippery conditions. Normal driving is in rear while drive only.
