There used to be warnings pasted on the bottom of the windows telling you never to close the blinds fully in hot sunshine. I bet many people have never taken any notice of that warning as they have never read it?
When we get the caravan i have taken heed of this warning never fully close the blinds in hot sunshine , 🙏There used to be warnings pasted on the bottom of the windows telling you never to close the blinds fully in hot sunshine. As an experienced caravanner I thought you would have known this already as it has been printed on windows for years? Wise move..When we get the caravan i have taken heed of this warning never fully close the blinds in hot sunshine , 🙏

When we had our last van there was the CRiS label on the window but nothing else that why I taken noteAs an experienced caravanner I thought you would have known this already as it has been printed on windows for years? Wise move..![]()
None of my caravans have had such warnings on the windows - so they aren't universal. When we had our last van there was the CRiS label on the window but nothing else that why I taken note![]()
I came across the instructions/advice years ago but the print was super small and as it was horizontal and at ceiling height it took some perseverance to decipher.None of my caravans have had such warnings on the windows - so they aren't universal.
They were definitely on Lunar caravans and probably most other brands. Generally it was a small transparent sticker at bottom of the window with black type on it and a little diagram. The next time you go to your caravan have a careful look.None of my caravans have had such warnings on the windows - so they aren't universal.
Can’t recall any warning on my last Swift windows built circa 2012. But it was something I was aware of. Passed down in folk lore probably. They were definitely on Lunar caravans and probably most other brands. Seem many people on here cannot read or need to go to Specsavers? 🤣 🤣 I think most windows would probably have come from the same manufacturer?......I have a Swift Challenger of 2012 and the warnings are on every plastic window.
They are very small and could be easily missed.
By the same token, I've had conversations with caravan owners about it being the law that caravans have to display 2 red reflective triangles on the rear of their caravan.
They've been adamant that their caravan doesn't have them![]()
It maybe they see round ones but they actually show triangle when lights on them.......I have a Swift Challenger of 2012 and the warnings are on every plastic window.

I think that I would have noticed such a warning given its location and dimensions, and I can confidently say there wasn’t one on the front or other window. Nor were there any on my previous 2005 Bailey either. From the graphic it looks like a pleated blind. Mine were roller.Seem many people on here cannot read or need to go to Specsavers? 🤣 🤣 I think most windows would probably have come from the same manufacturer?
I agree most people would not bother to check what looks like a trademark for the windows when is is actually a warning. We had our caravan for about 3 years before it was pointed out to me. Check the bottom of your window the next time you visit your caravan.

If the above photo is to be believed it’s not so small to be noticeable. After all it’s there to see every time the window handle is used. Where is the transfer fitted? Window maker or caravan maker? It is very small so easily missed.

Would you also like to know how many times they went to the toilet? 🤣 🤣 Go find a caravan of a similar year and check yourself instead of a pointless argument about something that may or may not exist in your mind. 🤣If the above photo is to be believed it’s not so small to be noticeable. Even with emojis condescension is still condescension. The debate even goes back as far as 2012 when like a pantomime or Punch and Judy show “ yes there is, no there’s not” came from the members of one Forum.Would you also like to know how many times they went to the toilet? 🤣 🤣 Go find a caravan of a similar year and check yourself instead of a pointless argument about something that may or may not exist in your mind. 🤣
I’m a numptie as I thought it was a foggy day. 😂......for clarity.
The photo I posted of the warning sticker was deliberately taken of my translucent bathroom window.
The same stickers on the larger clear windows are much more difficult to see and photograph.
The sticker also shows that more information is available on blind positioning in the handbook.
We get that fog at times on clear days. LOL! 🤣 🤣I’m a numptie as I thought it was a foggy day. 😂
On first looking at the sticker I thought - surely they don't mean keep the windows shut if it's sunny?? No way would the OH stand for that!......for clarity.
