Few years back when having the sun roof in a caravan I made a panel to slot in rather than use the blind. This panel filled the window but left a 50 mm gap at the top to let the hot air escape. Used it on that caravan for 10 years and now used on present caravan
There used to be warnings pasted on the bottom of the windows telling you never to close the blinds fully in hot sunshine. I bet many people have never taken any notice of that warning as they have never read it?

There are various theories on why the pano windows crack:
That it is folks closing the blind in hot conditions
That Dometic made windows that are not sufficiently robust and flexible
That Swift have not made enough allowance for expansion and contraction in their bonding method.

I don’t know which Swift subscribe to. It could well be multi factorial. Personally I think it is the later as in our case, the blinds were only fully closed at night and the crack occurred in spring when temperatures were quite cold overnight, warming quickly in the day and dropping again at night.

None of my caravans have had such warnings on the windows - so they aren't universal.
They were definitely on Lunar caravans and probably most other brands. Generally it was a small transparent sticker at bottom of the window with black type on it and a little diagram. The next time you go to your caravan have a careful look.

Can’t recall any warning on my last Swift windows built circa 2012. But it was something I was aware of. Passed down in folk lore probably.

......I have a Swift Challenger of 2012 and the warnings are on every plastic window.
They are very small and could be easily missed.

By the same token, I've had conversations with caravan owners about it being the law that caravans have to display 2 red reflective triangles on the rear of their caravan.
They've been adamant that their caravan doesn't have them:unsure:

Seem many people on here cannot read or need to go to Specsavers? 🤣 🤣 I think most windows would probably have come from the same manufacturer?

I agree most people would not bother to check what looks like a trademark for the windows when is is actually a warning. We had our caravan for about 3 years before it was pointed out to me. Check the bottom of your window the next time you visit your caravan.

It maybe they see round ones but they actually show triangle when lights on them.

I think that I would have noticed such a warning given its location and dimensions, and I can confidently say there wasn’t one on the front or other window. Nor were there any on my previous 2005 Bailey either. From the graphic it looks like a pleated blind. Mine were roller.

If the above photo is to be believed it’s not so small to be noticeable. After all it’s there to see every time the window handle is used. Where is the transfer fitted? Window maker or caravan maker?
Would you also like to know how many times they went to the toilet? 🤣 🤣 Go find a caravan of a similar year and check yourself instead of a pointless argument about something that may or may not exist in your mind. 🤣

......for clarity.

The photo I posted of the warning sticker was deliberately taken of my translucent bathroom window.
The same stickers on the larger clear windows are much more difficult to see and photograph.

The sticker also shows that more information is available on blind positioning in the handbook.

Even with emojis condescension is still condescension. The debate even goes back as far as 2012 when like a pantomime or Punch and Judy show “ yes there is, no there’s not” came from the members of one Forum.
