Agree entirely with all the comments re the C&CC. Fining you for being early is despicable, don't the rule makers want members. We have been members of both clubs now for well on 25 years and have noticed a decline in the attitude of both managers(site Wardens) and some members of both clubs. It is now too expensive to go onto either of the club sites for us, so we now use the CL or Cs's. Both are cheaper to visit, with all facilities and the owners treat you as equals and not as a burden. Plus you can meet friendly fellow campers, as used to be the case on club sites of years ago.

Would you expect to go to a hotel at 9:00 in the morning & be shown to your room?

Most have rules that say be vacated by 10:00 & entry at 14:00

Same with camp sites. Someone must vacate a pitch for you to be let on

If you want to arrive early (or leave late) book an extra night

In Germany and other countries in Europe they have the mittags pause ,siesta etc and entry or exit to many sites is not allowed for 2 hours mid day.

This results in queues on the access road usually of the English who are ignorant of the rules.

On one CC rally in Dinan (France) we were all lined up like a Le Mans start waiting for the gates to open.

Some sites are down narrow lanes so it makes sense to have an arrival/leaving policy that avoids the need for reversing caravans
