A long shot. Any one know how or where the 12 v earth return main connection is for the lighting and other 12v stuff?

Every electrical appliance/light will have its own "earth" connection (two wires) because the bodywork, not being ferrous metal, cannot be used for return purposes.

The 0v for the 12V D.C system( NOT to be confused with mains earth, which is not connected to the 12V 0V) is in the EDU .You will be able to see several white or white with either a brown of blue stripe wires , these are also 0V wires out the various parts of the electrical looms and hence the various 12V items.The ultimate 0v connection is the battery negative post connector.

Not in Baileys of my vintage. You may recall I had problems with faulty switches on the control panel last September . They are single pole merely joining the 12v+ when switched on. The earth links are elsewhere . I need to check the actual lights themselves and establish if their switches are single or double pole. Ian seems to be on the case. I’ll look in more detail when I get home.

12V switches in caravans are usually single pole switching the +ve.
Mains sockets with a switch should be two pole switching both live and neutral. Perhaps the cost of such is why the industry has moved to switchless outlets over the last decade or so?

Thats exactly what I said, each light/appliance has TWO wires, + feed and the - return (earth) I didnt mention switches because they have nothing to do with the subject of the question which asked about the "12 v earth return"
Each appliance and light will have TWO wires, the positive feed and the return (or earth) The feed (single wire) goes from the 12v supply, via the switch to the appliance/light and then, via the return (or earth) back to the other side of the supply.
So the earth ( or return) has nothing to do with the switch unless its a dual pole switch which operates on both feed and return, dual pole switches are rarely, if ever, used on any 12v system.
