the Skirrid mountain inn

just down the road from the C C site at Pandy , is the Skirrid mountain Inn ,which is listed as one of the most haunted Inns in the country , apparently 180 people were hanged from the beam which still has the wear marks on it, in 1685 the building served as a courthouse for hanging judge Jeffreys who sentenced members of a rebellion against King James the 11 with bloody efficiency ,since then investigators have reported plenty of paranormal activity , so next time i pass with the van i shall pop in for a pint ,

20 years ago a local artist Gillian Mac Donald sold her original water colours at the Skirrid Inn. I have a very pretty original of "sunrise over the Llanthony Valley".

Now you can only buy her prints. Not sure if she is still selling originals.

Cheers
