Up here in Derbyshire we have got a covering frost already and the outside thermometer is showing -4 degrees!
No sign of snow yet but snowploughs, tractors,my 4x4 and wellies are all on standby!

Well we are supposed to have it but beings I'm not the selfish type Ewan you can have our share as well. I'm not one of those who gets excited about it, I think of the disruption it causes and the affects it has on wildlife :O(
Give it less than a day and its all black sloshy stuff and looks awful. It looks nice on Christmas cards and that's where it should stay ;O)

Good amount here, I am just watching all the idiots outside trying to move through the slippy stuff. It will take me twice as long to get to work today as I dodge all the numpties and the dumped cars

It may be a bit tricky getting up onto the hills. We have about 5 inches here (near Northleach), but the dogs loved it. Gritter lorry just gone through village, but not making a lot of differance.

Will probably go up Cleeve HIll as we know it well enough to get off if the weather closes in again (though we could follow the dog as she always seems to know where she's going).
Love Northleach - lovely part of the county but don't want to push it too far today.
We have a 4x4 (hope i don't get lynched for this) so don't expect problems geteing there or back.
Glad you had a good time with the dogs - Millie loves chasing snowballs but still can't figure out why they disappear when they land!

Yep, the white background also lets you see discarded coke cans, McDonalds wrappers broken microwaves and empty gas bottles too.

In the online games room this morning I asked a friend from Bacup if she had had the 7 inches she was promised last night. The whole room erupted. I made a mental note of to read what I've typed before posting in future.

Hehheh! we've had about 5 inches but it's thawing already and aint I glad. Gawd I hate the bloody stuff :O)

I find this unbelievable. The main 6 O'Clock news headlines was the "Great Whiteout". It really is frightening when a couple of inches of snow can bring the whole country to a halt and close the nations schools and be described as a "great whiteout". I honestly don't believe they know what whiteout means unless its a way of sensationalism from the media. It really makes me wonder how they manage to cope in places like Russia, Canada and even other countries in Europe.
As usual the news loves to exagerate.
Apparently "the whole of Wales" has been hit by the snow.
For some reason, however, here in Pembrokeshire we have had a light rain shower at lunchtime, and sun for the rest of the day. No snow anywhere.

Up here in Lancashire we got all the severe weather warnings and the prediction of between 3-5 inches of snow.. what did we get? a few flurries that didnt stick. Boy did i breathe a big sigh of relief!
