Thetford 250 CWE Pump Replacement

I guess I am another victim of 250 frost damage. The WC failed to flush and the fuse was blown. Replacement fuse but still no flush. I have checked the contacts under the flush button and get power when the button is pressed, so I assume the pump is defective and will need to be replaced. As far as I can see, the pump supply cable is one continuous length from the circuit board to the pump. So am I correct in assuming I will need to cut the cable in order to remove the old pump and fit bullet type connectors to connect the replacement? I would appreciate any tips from those who have successfully dealt with this.
I find it more than irritating that after many years and several models of WC, Thetford are able to supply the caravan industry with a new model with such a silly fault.

Had mine done at local repair agency. No hassle all done under warranty. Mine is a 2010 Swift.

Were it so simple
Both I and the van are in France and a very long way from a Thetford Dealer. It will cost me less in time and fuel to do it myself. The warranty is a useful backup but not always the most economical solution,

It's not down to frost, the pumps are faulty. I have a 2009 Challenger 570. All drained down and heated over winter. Used it twice early this year with no problem. Went to use it at Baltic Wharf the other week, no flush. The fuse had blown, replaced that and it still didn't work. The new fuse was OK. Spoke to excellent workshop staff at Swindon Caravans who diagnosed faulty pump and took it there. They replaced it while I waited under warranty, it's fine now!
