Thetford Cassette leaking

Last time out in my Bailey caravan I noticed a pool of urine under the thetford cassette when I went to empty it. It wasn't mixed with chemicals so can't have leaked from the tank. It's not happened before and I have used the van for 18 months. I couldn't find where it had come from. Any thoughts please??
 
this can happen when it is used by someone when the lid is shut too.the fluid stays on top and when you remove the cassete it spills onto the rear of the compartment.
