Thetford fridge

My caravan fridge sometimes stops and refuses to re-start for up to 24hrs all other gas appliances ok,we can hear the ignitor clicking and gas flowing but as soon as we take our finger off the button it stops and the needle drops to the white again,just to be contrary it does re-start sometimes Many thanks Denis.ps the caravan is a 2006 Abbey.

I had a Thetford Fridge on a new van in 03 I also had a fair ammount of problems, and whilst it was under warranty I got a lot of sense out of Thetford - but not the dealer. It used to play up on gas - and still does - even though at one point they changed the fridge entirely. However,when I had a problem recently, and rang Thetford just to get the name of a service engineer, a grumpy woman at the other end of the phone asked if it was under warranty, and once she established it was not, said that she could not think of anyone that I could call in! If yours is under warranty, ring Mrs Grumpy, and get them to sort it!
