Thetford toilet- flush blade inop

Hi, i have a 1993 Swift with a thetford bench toilet. The blade opens by hand, with the casette taken out. But with the casette in place, the flush knob just turns. Now if i turn the mechanism from underneath, where the casette fits, the knob does turns inside, but it is very stiff. Any ideas how i can "free" it off.

Thanks in advance

Plilip,

I had trouble turning mine earlier this year. I took off the lip-seal by removing the countersunk screws and gave it a good clean in hot soapy water. Before refitting I sprayed the blade and seal with Thetford's maintenance spray and it's been fine since. I give it an occasional spray to keep it free.

If all this does not work, look at the thetford website. I have cahnged various bits including pressure relief valve following the info on this site. Don't have the URL to hand but Google it - it's a dutch based site (but in English)
