Hi All, I have a Thetford toilet in my baileys D4-4 Caravan.. I have lived in this caravan for a few months now. As you can see in my first photo...one red light comes on under the picture of the toilet cassette and when i see this i empty it.

BUT i have just notices in a certain light and angle... that i can see two more spaces that could light up below that dot..and a picture of a open casette to the right of the other picture! (See the 2nd photograph )

Have i been emptying the cassette before it is full.. not that it matters if so but should all these lights come on??

I get the same. It's just the led light spilling out through the overlay. Some toilet systems do have more warning lights which would presumably be underneath the extra windows.

We have the same in our Vigo. On our very first trip out, I was convinced that the extra spaces meant that more lights would come on as the cassette got fuller, until three lights would indicate that the cassette was full, and needed emptying. I was soon proved wrong with a major Code Brown event....... Now, I use birdman's approach, my eyes!

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Thank you everyone for the replys.
I guess mine is the one light system.
But i was thinking the same now ive spotted it .....as with one light it doesn't seem THAT full when i look down the toilet..
So i've wondered if i could get away with using it more (especially when the light comes up in the middle of the night and i dont want to go outside).. But i dont think i'l risk it. Those lights arn't coming on! haha :D

I empty the cassette daily as it's too small to last much over 24hrs.
I have only once seen the light come on.
The old C200 would last 2 days

I can't imagine the circumstances when an empty cassette might get filled up in one night!

I reckon our Dometic cassette would last the two of us for 4 days - but I empty it every 2 days when it's much lighter - and no worries about not lasting the nght.

Perhaps BBs insatiable desire for 10 pints a night has something to do with it🍺🍺🤪

Doing only number ones in the toilet , but drinking a lot beer( me that is) , if the light comes on at night there is till plenty of room left in it so it get emptied next morning . Even if the led doesn't come ,on I empty it every 2 days, mainly because it does weigh as much as its the type with no wheels.

I have always emptied our toilets regardless of how full, every evening. I then know if needed during the night there is plenty of room in it.

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Great conversation to read.. haha! Theres only one of me and I am living on site while i build my house and i have a outdoor toilet attached to my barn that i use during the days and for anything more than a wee ,even if its the middle of the night! So lucky for me mine only gets full every week or more.. but because im only using it for the odd wee during the night.. it is only in the middle of the night the light ever flashes up..haha x

Never found the light to be of much use as I emptied ours each day, but unless your Number 1s are done blind your eyes give feedback on the level.

Well thats the problem.. my light goes red and it looks like there is still loads of room in the toilet. That why i thought maybe all 3 lights were supposed to come on. But apparently not! I only have to empty mine ever week or two . Once the red light is on there is still lots of room in mine so i dont worry about emptying it in the middle of the night and leave it till morning to do!

The fullness of the honey bucket also depends upon how much flush fluid is used, Mrs H, has a much longer flush than myself.

Great post - can't beat a bit of playground toilet humour.
I've always told my nearest and dearest that whoever activates the red light should empty it, but thats fallen on deaf ears and apart from that I wouldn't trust her with the procedure as I'm sure half the kit would end up down the Elsan hole never to be seen again. Don't ask me how I know!
