Thetford Toilet

Hi All

This may seem like a stupid question but should you empty the flush fluid out of the cassette toilet before traveling to another site or will it be okay to leave it and just empty the waste?

Hi Magnus

When reading the manual for the Thetford toilet in our Bailey series 6, it advised us to remove fluid to stop spilage during travelling and causing problems with seals or words to that affect. Hubby emptied it into a jack to use again.

We have never had a problem (5 cassette toilets) but our friends have the identical model to us and their's leaks if they travel with fluid in the top tank

They get pink water in the shower tray.

The only way to find out is to try it for your particular one

We have had 3 vans with castette loos with flush tanks. We always travel with some flush fluid (not much due to the unnessesary weight) just incase the loo is needed enroute. hever had any leakage of fluid.
