Its because of the John Cleese link, my mind always relates him to Python.

Well, thats the caravan washed and preppes. We arent going until Sunday unless madam gets her behind into gear. Im a firm believer if the caravan is ready, may as well go.

Interesting points about folk chatting on campsites. I do find that if folk have gone away in a group then they stay within their group, on site where there are no dedicated pitches you can usually tell the groups because they will have marked their own territory defined by multi-coloured windbreaks. This is obviously a massive generalisation and is by no means reflects my experience of all group camping types. I do find that those who have invested in better tents, campers and caravans tend to be friendlier than those who camp for two bank holidays a year with their group of chums though. Like Thingy I have probably had more conversations over the stand pipe or the CDP than at the bar. Air awnings seem to be a good talking point at the mo, folk see ours and want to know about it. I do finds 5th wheel and motor homers slightly more aloof though, especially when we get into the darker months (although we have had only one winter caravanning, before that it was tents and the season ended with the turn of October). We are off to the New Forest this weekend and again two weekends after and then off to Selsey for a week at the start of the kids summer holidays.

Same destination for us this weekend, Food Festival at Bournemouth on Saturday. Moved to Selsey around 1971 from Watford when I was very young, all changed now not like the village I knew then.

(History lesson -- "Splendid isolation" was the foreign policy pursued by Great Britain during the late 19th century, especially under the Conservative Party premierships of Benjamin Disraeli and Robert Gascoyne-Cecil - shall we be there again Friday?) Same here, your not the only one.

If we didn't we wouldn't find out about places of interest, where to shop, how far too etc. etc. It was our second season 2 weeker that when speaking to a neighbour on site about using a lot of gas 'mainly due to kettle on24/7' that he pointed out I've paid for the EHU why didn't I we have an electric kettle instead of gas. Obvious to some but throwback to the days living in a truck for me. Turned out Himself and wife were from Watford where I was born.
