tilt sensor alarms

Hi All

Am going to purchase an alarm from towsure that has a tilt sensor alarm, and is set on and off by remote control, I was wondering if anyone has one of these how they find it, do you ever get false alarms in strong winds say or for any other reason, wouldnt like to go out for the day and find out it had been going off all day annoying any one(and flattening my battery !!!!!!

I have an SAS alarm with tilt sensor and if set up correctly will only activate if the front of the caravan is raised to hitch up. The old vibration sensors could be activated by the wind.

Most alarms cut off after 20 mins maximum and many are owner variable from 5 to 20 mins.

I have a maker-fitted alarm on a Coachman van, and have never had any problems with the tilt setting. Indeed when testing it, I was quite surprised about how much "tilt" was required to trigger it, but I suspect the sensor is a mercury switch which would respond to movement (especially over rough ground) as well as tilt. However, CC Insurance seem happy and offer me suitable discount for having (and using) it.
