Tinted windows

Hi, anyone tinted there windows with using those rolls of tint, and how did it go, but I expect would be difficult to remove unlike a car where scraping would be a problem

NEVER stick anything to a plastic window on a caravan, be it tinted film, logos, badges, or even payment stickers from caravan sites. The different plastics react with each other and cause the windows to craze and crack. This is also why you shouldn't put cling-film on the outsides to protect form dirt, etc when travelling.

Does that include the stickers put on during manufacturer ?

On my last site I visited talking to 2 caravaners who had tinted there windows and it actually looked very nice, but thought I'd check it out on here before I had a go, just as well I guess, although they looked good maybe problems in the future.

So why do the clubs offer you a sticker for your caravan window? Surely if the reaction between the plastics was that toxic, they'd be worried about members sueing them for damage to their windows! If you know about this reaction, W.C., why don't the techies at the two clubs?

.........I am going straight out and remove the 19 year old stickers from my 19 year old caravan plastic windows before the windows start to craze and crack 😗

The other controversial thing that dealers/suppliers do and we are told not to is to pressure wash a van. I was in our local dealers earlier this week and saw one being prepared for a customer - and it was being pressure washed. 😗
