hi folks

just seen a 06 reg titanium x mondeo for sale.. it says its the 130 model ( 2.0 tdci).. does anyone have one and what are they like for towing.. thinkin of trading the sorento in for it..

I Have had a 130TDCI did approximatley 100,000 miles, great car no problems, I now have a 2.2 Titanium great car in every respect apart from this one appears to be heavy on tyres great car though I tow a Sterling Eccles Jewel with no problems

hi darryl, i tow with a 04 plate ghia x 130 tdci. pulls my sterling europa 525 with ease.on dual carrigeway/motorway will cruise comfortably in 6 gear with van on back.mondeo ticks all boxes for me being a competant tow car plus economical around town.

here here i tow with a 2004 2.0 130 tdci zetec s as others say fault less i tow an xplore 546 at about 1300 kgs,ish, the ony thing to watch is the temp gauge in trafic mine seems to get a little on the warm side but turning the heater up sorts it good luck.

I can't fault the Mondeo for all round performance.

I have a 54 reg' 130 Ghia estate. I got the estate for the extra load space and the self levelling suspention.

My last car was a Shogun, which pulled the caravan really well but handled like a tank and was very very thirsty.

I average 46mpg from from mainly town driving and I get 30 mpg with the caravan on the back.

I believe that is very good for the size of car and the level of comfort that the Mondeo offers.

We also tow with a 2.0tdci 130 Mondeo ghia 54plate, my husband really wanted the cruise control on it for motorways and hasn't been disappointed. Our last tow car was a mondeo petrol 2.0- towed ok but not a patch on this diesel mondeo.

I use the car when not towing for work etc. and it is economical to run.

We tow an Abbey GTS 418.

A brilliant car all round.

I got a 2006 2.2 titanium x towing a compass 556 . and yes tows it with ease . 150 bhp . 18 ins wheels and loves chewing the front tyre. pair of front tyre about every 6 mths
