Until now we have always used Aquachem toilet stuff for tank and flush.

Towsure sell other makes. Would be grateful for comments, as there is no point in flushing money down the drain so to speak.

Thank you - Happy Easter

Dont waste money putting additive in th eflush tank, it causes more problems than it solves.

Alex,

I used Thetford Aquarinse and started to get black bits in the flush. I was then advised to use Elsan Pink Flush. I have been useing it for about two years with no problems whatsoever. Friends who also had problems with Aquarinse have switched to Elsan Pink and have ceased to have problems.

The Elsan Pink goes a long way so works out cheap. The perfume cuts out nasty smells and keeps the bowl nice and fresh.

At the end it is a matter of personal choice. We like a clean fresh smelling loo.

Damien, What sort of problems? I've been using different types of additive in the flush tank for as long as I can remember and have never had any problems. Have I just been lucky?

Rob, from what I have been called out to sort out, it is mainly excessive algae growth and after being left in the flush tank for any length of time, Pink forms a gel which blocks the pipes and pump.

I have never used additive in the flush tank and never have any algae problems, just a good sterilisation each year keeps the tank clean.

I guess you have just been lucky or have a different water type , probably softer than where I am
