toilet exterior water help required please

I own a bailey caravan my problem is the toilet exterior flush fill, the sealant used is still stickey and i have trouble opening the filling cover, i end up removing the barrel with key when opening due to this problem.

Can i remove the four screws and remove clean and reseal to tidy up and make less stickey with the sealant please regards mark.
 
Mark I suggest you contact a Dealer or Bailey and ask them what to do. If it is an old van and out of warranty then have a go - nothing to lose.
 
if you are very careful cut at the sealant with a stanley knife

and clean off any thats stuck to the lid this should work

best to leave the screws
