whats the best method people have found to fill up the water on there toilet without having to lift up a hefty barrel to the filler cap?

I have saved an empty 2 litre Aqua-Chem bottle (Pink or Blue), removed the label and use that to fill up the water tank.I find that as it has a handle, it's easy to hold and the spout is narrow enough to tip the water out slowly into the small hole. I usually find one bottle full lasts quite a while but you could get another bottle's worth in if you wanted to.

The same as MM, I use a plastic watering 'can' to fill up the flush water with the pink cleaning chemical in it.

The Pink is a sanitiser/detergent/deodoriser to make the bowl etc "nice".

The blue is a liquid to contain and stop the nasty stuff starting to decompose before you can dump it, two different tasks.

Dont use blue in the flush water otherwise you will stain the bowl over time, very likely damage the pump and other components and the smell as it evaporates will drive you mad.

theres a couple of bottles of the green stuff in the van too, is that just a replacement of the blue stuff?

When you go shopping get a watering can in a bright colour. Mine is bright "pink"! That stops anyone wanting to steal it. I mean pink isn't exactly a matcho colour.

A 6 Litre can is just right to fill the flush tank from empty.

You'd be suprised how many nick nack bits we all take away with us to make things easy. I enrole the wife & kids in the water duties oh what fun.

Kidding aside, ask away on all the odd jobs etc you'll get a varied and wonderful array of advice.

I fill the Aquaroll, connect it, take the sprinkler head off the shower, put it out the window and fill the flush resevoir.

Tch "Simples!"

So just to get this right, our toilet is one that you pull out from the outside of the caravan. This is the typre that you put the pink flushing stuff in. The blue is what I would put in the bottom just to stop the stuff in there going off.

In our last toilet which was one that we used to split in half to empty, I used to put the blue in the top half. I am guessing that was wrong then. If I was wrong I can tell the chap who I sold it to that its not the way I told him.

cheers.

a simple 4L screen wash container now rinsed out . You can fill with water put the cap on .Seemples.

And you know those 2L bottles of fizzy drink? Cut the bottom off and the neck will then sit nicely inside the filler cap of your water hog / aqua roll while the open end of the bottle sits under the drinking water tap.

No hosepipes that suddenly come off the tap, no more wet shoes, and if the tap is a bit low then trim a bit off the bottle.. seemples.

I use the 12v pump supplied with the van, straight from aqua roll to header tank, easy!
