Hi all, i have just taken delivery of a 1998 ABI dalesman which is immaculate and we are really happy with. When the seller was doing the handover he notice that when he tried to flush the toilet hardly any water came out (it was also tighter than usual to twist)so we had a fiddle and it appears to be gunged up as the van has been standing for a while. He suggested flushing the system with a hose for a while then filling it up with a good dose of milton and leaving it for a couple of days.

Im a total newbie to caravanning so any advice would be gratefully recieved :)

Tried to do a search but it always says no results found? even if i just put cleaning in???

Thanks Chris

Hi Chris,

A solution of Milton and water would be my first thought, then a rinse through with clean water.

Milton will clean up the system, and is cheaper than fendox.

Dilute as per the manufacturers instructions, leave overnight and flush through

Depending how bad the tank is contaminated, it may take a couple of attempts.

Once clean, keep it that way by NOT using additives in the flush tank

Thanks Again Chris
