Hi we were planning to tour Europe late summer this year and over winter in Spain before resuming in the spring going to Holland and Italy and Germany. But life got in the way and we are living later November instead. Anyone got any campsite info for sites open all year in South of France going down to the bottom of Spain we not worried about time as we want to see as much as possible. Or any website they give info on people who have done it and written about it would help.

Thanks Keith

Hi Keith

We have done much of what you say you are planning, great fun!

In the south of France, a site called LaRouletta, just off the motorway & south of Biarritz is open all year, it's clean and has good laundry facilities ( when we get there we have usually been several weeks in France, so need to "housewife" and re-stock.

In Spain, a site in Salamanca called Hotel Regis is very good. Salamanca is a good stop on the way across Spain. It gets VERY cold in winter, -5 in the morning when we were there, you'll need to bring the water pump inside at night.

There are many other good sites, let me know if we can help some more.

Hi,

If you have the time consider stopping off at Poitiers and visit Futuroscope, a nearby site is "Camping Le Futuriste" at Jaunay Clan. It is a good stop over site as well.

In Spain "Camping Pioco de la Miel" La Cabrera (N of Madrid) and further S "Camping Carlos 111" La Carlota near Cordoba.

Hope this will be of benefit.

Enjoy

I also recommend Camping Le Futuriste at Poitier (great heated toilet block).

Quite a few sites are open in the Spanish 'Costas' in the winter but can be quite crowded. It is often warm and sunny during the day, bur can go below freezing at night. Make sure you are on a site with a good ampage and/or uoui take an adequate supply ogf gas (you cannot refill/change CALOR gas bottles abroad).
