We are hoping to buy a new bailey pageant champagne, and have recently purchased a 2009 honda diesel crv. We would welcome any advice on the type of tow bar we need to have fitted to tow this make of caravan. Thank You

Towbars are not caravan-specific. Any type of towbar which is approved for the Honda CRV will do. Whether you choose a fixed towbar (either a swan neck or a bolt-on towball) or a detachable towball is a matter of personal preference. However, if you select the bolt-on type you will need to fit an AlKo towball if the caravan is fitted with an AlKo stabiliser.

Of course what Nigel is referring to is not the towbar itself, but its electrics. As he has pointed out, one is well advised to use OEM electrics although the towbar may be from a different source.

I wouldn't be put off by the scare stories if you buy a dedicated compatible wiring kit you'll have no problems.

Try towequipe.co.uk, you'll probably get the same brand tow hitch as the manufacturer supplies for half their price or less.

Towequipe sell wiring kits but you'll probabaly find you get a very good fully compatible Dedicated wiring kit thats CAN-Bus Compatible and Trailer Stability Prog compatible for your CRV car cheaper from www.discount-towing.co.uk, they also supply tow bars but towequipe have a better choice of bars for most cars.
